Automating Survey Base Plan Creation and Surface Modeling with MMCD IDS and Civil 3D
The 2026 MMCD Infrastructure Data Standards (IDS) framework is modernizing how existing conditions models are prepared for municipal infrastructure and land development projects.
This live online course focuses on Existing Conditions Modeling — the process used for creating a pre-engineering survey base plan and an existing conditions surface model.
Using Civil 3D 2026 with MMCD IDS 2026, this course demonstrates how the creation of existing conditions deliverables can be 90% complete directly from reduced coordinate point files. These point files are imported to the Civil 3D survey database and then the DWG to automatically generate survey figures (linework), symbols and surface models with breaklines. Repetitive tasks associated with creating these deliverables are virtually eliminated.
