Learn how to design roads, intersections, sidewalks, trails, and other surface transportation features using Autodesk Civil 3D 2026 corridor modelling tools. This demonstration-based course covers assemblies, corridors, sections, volumes, editing workflows, and corridor data extraction.
Description
Course Overview
The MMCD IDS – Civil 3D Corridor Design Course provides instruction on how to design surface transportation projects, including new roads, existing roads, road rehabilitation, sidewalks, trails, and other related features using corridors and other functionality available in Autodesk Civil 3D 2026.
This demonstration-based session walks participants through the complete corridor design process, including subassemblies, assemblies, corridor modelling, corridor editing, sample lines, sections, and volumes.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will understand:
- The importance of subassembly point, link, and shape codes
- How to create an assembly by adding subassemblies
- How to create a corridor from an alignment, profile, and assembly
- Procedures for creating section views and end-area volume reports
- How to use Project Explorer to analyze and edit corridors
Course Topics
Key topics covered include:
- Stock and custom subassemblies
- Where subassembly point, link, and shape codes apply
- The importance of the Code Set Style
- Creating assemblies by adding subassemblies
- How to create a corridor model
- How to model a simple intersection using multiple baselines and regions
- Working with the Corridor Intersection tool
- The Civil 3D Corridor contextual ribbon tab
- How to use the Corridor Section Editor effectively
- How to create sample lines and add section data
- Procedures for plotting cross-section sheets
- How to calculate end-area volumes
- Reporting end-area volumes in dynamic tables and static reports
- How to extract data from corridor models
