Description
Course Overview
The MMCD IDS – Civil 3D Corridor Design Course provides instruction on how to design surface transportation projects including new roads, existing roads, road rehabilitation and other features such as sidewalks and trails using corridors and other functionality available in Autodesk Civil 3D 2026.
This demonstration based session walks through the entire corridor design process including subassemblies, assemblies, corridor modeling, corridor editing, sample lines, sections and volumes.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will understand:
- The importance of subassembly point, link and shape codes
- How to create an assembly by adding subassemblies
- How to create a corridor from an alignment, profile and assembly
- Procedures for creating section views and end area volume reports
- How to use Project Explorer to analyze and edit corridors
Course Topics
Key topics covered include:
- Stock and custom subassemblies
- Where subassembly point, link and shape codes apply
- The importance of the Code Set Style
- Creating assemblies by adding subassemblies
