How are contaminated materials handled under the MMCD?

Contaminated materials are addressed in:

  • Section 31 05 17 – Aggregates and Granular Materials
  • Section 31 24 13 – Roadway Excavation, Embankment, and Compaction
  • Section 31 23 01 – Excavating, Trenching, and Backfilling
    Costs and procedures for remediation or disposal must be discussed and agreed upon with the Contract Administrator. These are not typically included in base contract quantities and may require a Change Order.
