Is a Change Order required for Extra Work?

Yes. Per GC 7.1.3 and GC 8.0, Extra Work is to be authorized through a Contemplated Change Order (CCO) or Field Memo, followed by a formal Change Order issued by the Contract Administrator. Work performed without written authorization may not be compensated.
