Infrastructure Data Standards

MMCD Infrastructure Data Standards (IDS) is a suite of standardized components used for infrastructure procurement and lifecycle management for both infrastructure and land development projects. Mostly based on Autodesk Civil 3D, MMCD IDS is for use by owners, contractors and engineering and survey consultants who are MMCD members.

MMCD IDS includes the following components:

The design modeling standard is the CAD Standard consisting of the Autodesk Civil 3D drawing templates, pipe catalogs and other supporting files. This is your toolkit for modeling existing conditions, conceptualization, preliminary design, detailed design, construction administration and project information modeling.  The drawing production, construction and data exchange standards are subsets of the Design Modeling standard.

The drawing production standard brings consistency to the appearance of infrastructure and land development engineering drawing sets.  The construction standard addresses level of detail and data formats required for construction layout.

The data exchange standard is a data delivery specification used to prepare the PIM Project Information Model.  The PIM is a detailed data delivery specification that allows owners to automate the intake of data for newly constructed infrastructure assets.
