Recognizing Collaboration, Contract Administration and Successful Municipal Infrastructure Delivery
Successful municipal infrastructure projects depend on more than good design and construction. They require clear contracts, effective administration, open communication and collaboration among Owners, Consultants and Contractors.
The Master Municipal Construction Documents Association (MMCD) has established two awards to recognize project teams and individuals who demonstrate these principles in practice.
Awards will be presented at the Master Municipal Construction Documents Association Annual General Meeting.

MMCD Project Excellence in Collaboration Award
The MMCD Project Excellence in Collaboration Award recognizes a municipal infrastructure project where the Owner, Consultant and Contractor worked collaboratively to achieve a successful project outcome.
The award recognizes the project team as a whole and highlights projects that demonstrate effective communication, sound contract administration, practical problem-solving and successful delivery.
Eligibility
Eligible nominations should relate to a municipal or public infrastructure project that used MMCD documents, or was substantially based on MMCD, and reached Substantial Performance or substantial completion during the applicable award period.
The nomination should have the support of the principal Owner, Consultant and Contractor.
Evaluation Criteria
- Owner–Consultant–Contractor Collaboration — 50%
- Project Delivery — 20%
- Contract Administration and Application of MMCD — 15%
- Challenges, Innovation and Problem Solving — 10%
- Community / Owner Benefit — 5%
A project does not need to have experienced zero changes or claims. The evaluation will consider how effectively the project team dealt with challenges when they arose.

Selection Process
Eligible nominations will be reviewed by an evaluation panel representing the municipal Owner, consulting and contracting communities.
Panel members will evaluate nominations against the published criteria. Evaluators with a direct conflict involving a nomination will not participate in scoring that submission.
Award recipients will be notified in advance and recognized at the MMCD Annual General Meeting.
